Types & Flavours

All my sponges are home baked using free range eggs and good quality flours and butter. Below are the most popular flavours I do.

Moist vanilla sponge: Filled with raspberry or strawberry preserve and smooth, real butter, butter cream.

Fresh lemon cake: A lovely light lemony cake infused with lemon sugar and filled with delicious lemon butter cream and lemon curd. (My personal favourite!)

Fresh orange cake: As above but with orange sugar and orange butter cream and orange curd.

You can also have a combination of these two flavours to make a St. Clements cake.

White chocolate sponge: Filled with delicious high quality white chocolate butter cream.

Moist chocolate cake: Filled with 70% cocoa chocolate butter cream and raspberry jam (optional)

Marble cake: Split and filled with either chocolate butter cream or vanilla butter cream.

Not see a flavour you like? Please ask about any other flavours and I will do my best to accommodate.

Rich fruit cake: As I only run my business part time and fruit cakes have also declined in popularity, even for weddings, I now order them in from Sweet Success – here is what they say about their cakes:
Our rich fruit cake bases are made with only the highest quality ingredients to ensure your decorated cake will taste as good as it looks. The fruit is soaked in pure fruit puree and sherry for several days, and then baked in a special way which seals in the moisture, so you will not need to feed the cake with extra alcohol prior to decorating.
I have used their cakes for a number of years and they are very good. Please note I require an extra two weeks advance notice if requesting a fruit cake as I have to order them in.

Allergy advice: Although I do not use nuts in my cakes my home is not a nut free environment. All my cakes contain eggs, milk and wheat flour – although I am able to make gluten free sponges (not suitable for carved novelty cakes).
